| October | OISCA International 40th anniversary held in Tokyo To commemorate the anniversary, the Global Forum on Education for Sustainable Future was held at the Olympic Memorial Youth Center, Tokyo, and the Ten-thousand People’s Convention to reflect upon the future of children and the environment was held at the National Sports Gymnasium Movie actor Hidekazu Akai was appointed Ambassador of the Children’s Forest Program on that occasion OISCA Japan organizes tree planting volunteer programs dispatching a total of 2001 Japanese volunteers overseas in the year 2001, also as part of the program to commemorate the 40th anniversary and UN Year of Volunteers |
