On June 14 th , 2007, g Forest of Pajero h kick-off ceremony was held in Hayakawa, Yamanashi Prefecture . This is a reforestation project implemented jointly by Mitsubishi Motors and OISCA in Hayakawa. Pajero is the name of a new car manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors. The project will continue for three years, where they plant trees, and maintain them with weeding and cutting undergrowth on 3 hectares of land in Hayakawa.
Before the ceremony was organized in Hayakawa, Mr. Osamu Masuko, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors Japan paid a courtesy call on Mr. Masaaki Yokouchi, Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture. Then he participated in the tree planting ceremony held in Hayakawa. Executives of Mitsubishi Motors hope to establish close links and networks with villagers through their volunteer activities. After the planting ceremony they held a meeting over lunch prepared with ham, tofu and other materials locally produced in Hayakawa. At this meeting, they agreed to organize a volunteer tree planting forum in November 2007, participated in by villagers and employees of Mitsubishi Motors.
