OISCA South India Scholarship Distribution 2008.

 

OISCA South India had introduced a scholarship scheme to help poor schoolgirls, who excel in studies and are economically backward. Some members had come forward to donate a certain amount to this scheme. Under this scheme about 500 girls are getting benefits from different chapters every year. The distribution and felicitation ceremony was held at OISCA Youth Centre, Calicut on 9th August 2008.

Calicut City Deputy Mayor Prof P.T. Abdul Latheef participated in the function and praised OISCA for taking such activity. Students from 6th Class to post graduation and Professional courses like medicine were among them.

 
Scholarship winners speech.
  A girl who received scholarship is paralyzed due to Polio and every day her mother used to carry her to school. Her family is very poor and her father is also handicapped. Even in this condition she performs excellently well in her studies. OISCA South India Chapter members wish to take up the construction of a small house for her family with the support of all OISCA members.
