Mindanao Eco-Tech International School

Mindanao Eco-Tech International School accommodates long-term (10 months-1 year) and short-term (1 month) trainees, as well as students from Japan, and students from the Agricultural University in the Philippines. The trainees learn to cultivate various vegetables, forestation, and promote local industries.

Mindanao Eco-Tech International School advocates handcraft industry, which includes papermaking, weaving etc. It also endorses the Sustainable Fish Culture Project by planting mangroves and implementing crab culture in the area. Additionally, the School promotes eco-tourism in Pamansaran, where a large-scale tree-planting project has been applied over the past decades.

Director Hiroshi Ikeda aspires to publicize the "Furusato" concept, which literally means "home" or "home village" in Japanese. He hopes to spread the Furusato concept as it represents the love for home, guides people to develop affection for their homeland, provides motivation for community service and contribute to the development of a more productive and prosperous community.
